DAMI AJAYI is on the Melita Hume Poetry Prize Shortlist:

Dami Ajayi whose poems were showcased here in the last post—and perhaps for the longest time on my blog—is on the shortlist of the Melita Hume Poetry Prize. 

I remembered the chat we had on BBM, where he offhandedly said between our conversation, “I saw the link of the poetry competition on your blog, maybe I should apply.”

He left me a message two days later, “My mom has taken it with her to the UK.”

This morning, I found time to again “ping” him for a chat and send him congratulatory messages on his short list; he replied, “A pleasant international surprise.”

I wish him the very best and even bigger things ahead.
