Attention Playwrights....A Call for Submission

To be able to make an informed decision in the coming 2011 general elections, the generality of Nigerians needed voter education and theatre has proven to be one critical tool in ensuring this education is passed across to the people in the language that they understand.


In view of these, Arojah Royal Theatre, an Abuja based professional theatre outfit seeks short voter education plays from interested writers from across the nation to use for our Voter Education Project.


All interested playwrights are expected to submit a short play that conforms with the guidelines listed below to arojahconcepts@yahoo.com:


1.      Must be written in English


2.      Can be set in any part of Nigeria


3.      Play must address at least three fundamental issues i.e affirmative action, gender participation, free & fair election, violence free election etc.


4.      Must be between 20 – 30 minutes


5.      Must not have more than 7 – 10 characters


6.      Deadline for submission of 22nd December 2010






Benefits to playwright.


-          Please note that the best three scripts selected will be produced by our outfit


-          Selected plays will receive N50,000 each (copyright remains property of the playwright)


-          Best 11 entries will be considered for publication project tagged ’11 Voter Education Plays for 2011 General Election’
